New Shoes

At a time when I should really be buying boots or at least winter appropriate shoes, these are my two latest shoe purchases...

I pray for summer or at least a vacation so I can where these. I finally tracked down where to purchase Camomilla online. I got these on sale from around 60euros to 19euros from a French website called happygoodies.com. I actually wanted these shoes in the black ballet pump version but they were sold out. The shoebox they came in is soooooooo cute I just had to show you. I am thinking of keeping my nail polish collection in there.

As for this pair, at least they are waterproof so much more glamourous than wellington boots. They are from one of my favourite shoe brands called Melissa. A fact about this brand is that their shoes are bubblegum scented. They must of double-sprayed these shoes because my colleagues could actually smell bubblegum in the office! These were on sale (not by alot though) for £56 on Asos.com.

Forever bag

(£375 from Mywardobe.com)

This Anya Hindmarch "Maeve" bag was a belated birthday present from my husband. I say belated because it took two months after my birthday and a small drama at Mulberry in Stansted Airport to choose what bag I wanted. I am fan of Anya Hindmarch bags because they are classic and functional. This bag is three bags in one because you can unclip the crossbody strap and make it shorter to use as a shoulder bag or you can tuck the strap in and use the bag as an oversized clutch. It truly is a forever bag and that is what I look for in a bag rather than the latest Louis Vuitton or Gucci, which will sure to be dated in the next season.

My favourite bag designers are Mulberry, Anya Hindmarch, Manoush (it's a French contemporary clothing brand but the it carries nice bags too most seasons) and Lancel (I would say this is the French equivalent to Mulberry and not easy to find outside of France I believe).

Je suis desole...

Its been a long time since I have blogged. A number of factors made me quit for a while... a busy job, travel and I was not really certain about blogging. But I'm back with a new outlook on my blog. I intend to show you what my latest purchase are whether it be make up, beauty products, accessories or Hello Kitty stuff... and maybe throw a little of my travels in too.

During my absence from blogging I went on a trip to Toronto, New York & Chicago. It was my first time to visit Ulta where I bought lots of nail polish! I also went back and forth to France visiting various cities and stocking up on Bioderma products.

At the moment, I haven't really been buying make up (except nail polish) as I've been trying to use up some of what I already own. Its satisfying to use a product up. Later I might do a post on what I've used up.

So I hope you will find this new approach to my blog interesting and continue to follow.

Estee Lauder Michael Kors Very Hollywood collection haul

I was very excited about this collection. I purchased three products from Bel Air Beige.
From L-R:
Hollywood Gold Nail Lacquer: This is a creamy nude shade with just a hint of sheen. I'm very impressed with the coverage - opaque after one coat.
Starlet Peach Lipsheen: This gives a very sheer peach sheen to the lips.
Sunset Coral Blush: This is very pigmented and gives a great glow. My favourite product in the collection and my favourite new blush.
I purchased this from House of Fraser. At the moment if you purchase two products from the Estee Lauder counter there you will receive a free gift trousse with eyeshadow quad, lipstick, mascara, make up remover, serum and moisturiser.
Expect a Hello Kitty haul from me very soon.

Retail therapy

Hey!
I'm kinda feeling down at the moment, so today I went shopping to cheer myself up.
I actually just went to finally get YSL Mascara Singulier, but I also found lots of stuff in H&M, Topshop and Zara that I liked so it was a nice surprise :) The bag is £12.99 from H&M and will be perfect for my trip to Germany at the end of February. I am participating in my own personal hand luggage challenge, which means no checked-in luggage for the first time in my life! With liquid restrictions, my make up and toiletries will be limited for the trip. Yes, it will be a challenge for me!

Top products of 2009

Hey!

I'm finally posting my top products of 2009. Here goes....

Lipstick: Mac Saint Germain & Creme d'nude. YSL Rouge Volupte #7 & #8.

Lipgloss: Nar Striptease. By Terry Baume de Rose (I guess this is a "lip treatment" but I wore it as a gloss).

Blusher: Benefit Coralista (I wore this for my wedding). Shu Uemura P Pink 33E.

Bronzer: Benefit Hoola (for when I want a matte look) Givenchy Prismissime Matte & Glow (for when I want a shimmery look).

Contour: Mac Sculpt & Shape powder in Accentuate/Sculpt (I have used this practically every day since I bought it).

Highlight: Benefit Georgia.

Eyeshadow: Pure Artist Cube (not sure what the colour is called, its a shimmery charcoal/black). Mac Young Punk & Gilt by Association. Mac Cream Colour Base in Black (my go to product for a quick dark eye look).

Eyeliner: Mac Feline Khol Power. Make Up Forever Aqua Eyes in 1L (these two are my every day liners). I also liked Pure Kajal Liner in Black, Guerlain Khol Me in Ivory and an Yves Rocher Kajal liner (the exact name has rubbed off the packaging).

Eyebrow: Rimmel Professional Eyebrow Pencil in Hazel (a super old tried & trusted favourite). Givenchy Eye & Brow Prisme.

Mascara: I didn't really find "The One" in 2009 but I was pretty impressed with L'Oreal Lash Architect in Carbon Black and L'Oreal Telescopic.

Tinted Moisturiser: Again, I didn't find "The One" but I used Laura Mercier in Nude since summer. It works.

Concealer: Make Up Forever 5 Camoflage Palette.

Nail Polish: The ones I used the most throughout the year are Barry M Bright Red & Baby Pink, China Glaze in Shocking Pink Neon and Mavala in Liberty (its a nude shade).

Brushes: Mac #109 contour and Chanel #24 small pencil/smudger.

I'd say my brands of the year were Make Up Forever & Mac, and high-end brands YSL & Givenchy.

What were your top products of 2009?
